    8/28/2018 Planning/Implementation Subgrants

    Description: Competitive subgrant to provide funding for the planning and program design and initial implementation of new charter school programs in the state.
    Eligible entities: Qualified charter school operators: 1) schools not yet open for operation; 2) schools opening during the 2018-2019 school year; and 3) schools opened as of the 2017-2018 school year; OR qualified charter school developers (committees to form) with a notice of intent or application submitted to a Nevada charter school sponsor (SPCSA or ASD).

    6/4/2018 Public Broadcasting Services Grant

    Description: The Nevada State Department of Education has been appropriated $462,725 for fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 in a formula grant to be distributed among Nevada public broadcasters to assist in funding programming of high quality serving demonstrated community needs of an educational, cultural and informational nature.
    Eligible entities: Nevada Public Broadcasting Stations

    5/4/18 FY19 Great Teaching and Leading Fund

    Description: Competitive grant to incentivize Professional development for teachers, administrators and other licensed educational personnel; Programs of preparation for teachers, administrators and other licensed educational personnel; Programs of peer assistance and review for teachers, administrators and other licensed educational personnel; Programs for leadership training and development; and Programs to recruit, select and retain effective teachers and principals.
    Eligible Entities: RPDPs, school districts, charter school governing bodies, the State Public Charter School Authority, Nevada System of Higher Education institutions, employee associations representing licensed personnel, and nonprofit educational organizations not awarded an FY18/FY19 grant

    4/2018 CTE Allocation Grants and Perkins Grant


    Released 4/3/2018-FY19 State CTE Allocation Grant
    Description: State CTE Allocation grant priorities are to develop new, and/or expand, improve and support existing CTE programs.
    Eligible Entities: 9-12 grade existing CTE Programs. Funds are available to LEAs who had CTE programs in FY18.
    Timeline: Applications Due: May 16, 2018

    Release 4/4/2018-FY19 Perkins Local Formula Funds
    Description: The Perkins Local Formula grant priority is to improve and expand career and technical education for all students, through implementation of rigorous programs of study leading to industry recognized credentials.
    Eligible Entities: 7-14 grade CTE programs
    Timeline: Applications Due: May 16, 2018

    Release 4/4/2018-FY19 Perkins Corrections
    Description: The Perkins Corrections grant priority is to implement and sustain a delivery system for standards-based instruction, assessment and certification of student attainment of employability skills in rigorous career and technical education programs.
    Eligible Entities: Youth correctional programs serving students age 14-17 in Clark, Douglas, and Lincoln County School Districts, and the Nevada Youth Training Center in Elko County.
    Timeline: Applications Due: May 16, 2018

    Release 4/5/2018-FY19 Perkins Reserve Competitive Grant – Round 2
    Description: The Perkins Reserve Competitive Grant priorities include program development, establishment of innovative programs, collaboration, and accountability to demonstrate essential outcomes for CTE programs in (1) Rural areas; (2) Areas with high percentages of career and technical education students; and (3) Areas with high numbers of career and technical education students.
    Eligible Entities: 9-14 grade CTE Programs

    Description: The State CTE Competitive grant priority is to develop new or expand existing career and technical education programs.

    3/28/18 FY19 Financial Literacy Education SB249 Non-Competitive Grant Allocation

    Description: Senate Bill 249 provides funding to districts and charter schools to assist in broadening financial literacy education across 3-12 grades. There is a heavy emphasis on professional development in Senate Bill 249. So please plan your narrative and budgets accordingly.
    Eligible Entities: Rural Districts and Public Charter Schools – (Clark County SD and Washoe County SD have specific allocations)
    Timeline: Applications and budget narratives due April 30, 2018 5:00 pm

    3/28/2018 FY19 Computer Science Education SB200 Non-Competitive Grant Allocation

    Description: Senate Bill 200 outlines provisions that need to be met at various times over the course of the next few years. This legislation also provides funding to districts and charter schools to assist in broadening computer science education across K-12 grades. There is a heavy emphasis on professional development in Senate Bill 200. Note that requests for equipment alone, without a plan for broadening computer science across all grade levels or teacher professional development in computer science and computational thinking instruction, will not be approved. So please plan your narrative and budgets accordingly.
    Eligible Entities: Rural Districts and Public Charter Schools – (Clark County SD and Washoe County SD have specific allocations)

    3/20/18 NV Consolidation Application

    Description: Competitive grant including: 1003(a), Title IVA, College and Career Readiness and Turnaround
    Eligible Entities: This grant application is open to all Nevada public schools, district sponsored charter schools, schools sponsored by the State Public Charter School Authority, and Achievement School District charter schools.
    Due Dates/Timeline: 5/9/2018 5pm

    3/16/2018 Nevada K.I.D.S. Read - Phase IV State Grant

    Description:This Nevada Read by Grade 3 Request for Application is seeking grant applications for the Phase IV (2018-2019) Funding Allocation Cycle. This competitive grant opportunity aims to sustain and expand the work of Read by Grade 3 across the state.
    Eligible Entities: This grant application process is open to all Nevada public school districts, district-sponsored charter schools, charter schools sponsored by the State Public Charter School Authority, and Achievement charter schools.
    Due Dates/Timeline:  Friday, April 20, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. (PST)

    3/8/18 FY19 Read by Grade 3 Partial Continuation (P.C.) Grant

    Description: The Nevada K.I.D.S. Read-Nevada's Read by Grade 3 Program is offering a partial continuation grant application opportunity for continuance of specified activities awarded during Phase III.
    Eligible Entities: This P.C. Grant application process is only open to the twenty (20) public school districts and charter schools that were awarded Read by Grade 3 Phase III funds.
    Due Dates/Timeline: Applications are due on or before: Friday, March 16, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. (PST)

    2/2/18 Teach Nevada Scholarships

    Description: Strengthens the teacher pipeline by establishing a long-term strategy to recruit future teachers through a college and/or alternative-route scholarship program.
    Eligible Entities: All current state-approved traditional and Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) teacher preparation programs are eligible to apply.
    Due Dates / Timeline: Due February 26, 2018; Notice of award anticipated March 16, 2018

    Description: Perkins Nontraditional Training and Employment Grant Funding is to increase the numbers of students enrolled in programs leading to training and employment in careers designated as nontraditional.
    Eligible Entities: 7-14 grade CTE Programs.

    1/25/2018 FY19 Perkins Reserve Program Articulation Grant

    Description: Grant Agencies (Community Colleges) receiving Perkins Reserve Program Articulation funds must use them to meet the objectives of the following:

    • Career and Technical Education Articulated Credit Policy adopted by the Nevada State Board of Education and the Board of Regents of the Nevada System of Higher Education.
    • CTE College Credit Memoranda of Understanding signed by the college and the Nevada Department of Education.

    Eligible Entities: 13-14 grade CTE Programs, for the benefit of high school students

    1/16/2018 Title IV Part B 21st Century Community Learning Centers

    Description: CFDA 84.287C - ESEA Title IV Part B - 21st Century Community Learning Centers Purpose: Federal funds administered by the state to issue competitive grant awards to eligible entities in order to establish community learning centers which provide academic and enrichment opportunities for children and their families.

    Eligible entities: local educational agency (school districts and charters), community (non-profit) or faith-based organizations, Indian tribe or tribal organization, a public or private entity, or a consortium of 2 or more such agencies, organizations, or entities in active collaboration with low performing (Title 1) schools and partnering youth serving organizations.
    Due Date: March 30, 2018

    12/27/2017 Title IV A: Student Support and Academic Achievement Grant

    Description: Provide all students with access to a well-rounded education, improve school conditions for student learning, and improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students
    Eligible: All Nevada public schools, district-sponsored charter schools, charter schools sponsored by the State Public Charter School Authority, and Achievement District schools
    Due Date: January 24, 2018

    10/24/2017 Nevada Institute on Teaching and Educator Preparation

    Description: Competitive grant to select an institution that will establish Nevada Institute on Teaching and Educator Preparation (SB548).
    Eligible Entities: ONLY available to a college or university within the Nevada System of Higher Education.
    Due Dates/Timeline: November 7, 2017

    10/3/17 Nevada Ready 21

    Description: Competitive grant to select the Nevada Ready 21 second cohort.
    Eligible Entities: School districts and state-sponsored charter schools on behalf of middle schools.
    Due: November 3, 2017 4:00 pm.

    9/18/17 Work Based Learning

    Description: A supplemental RFA to the College and Career Readiness Grant to fund the development and implementation of work-based learning programs over the 2017-2019 Biennium.
    Eligible Entities: All schools districts, including all district -sponsored charter schools, charter schools sponsored by the State Public Charter Authority, and Achievement Charter Schools.
    Due Dates/Times: Due Dates: October 20, 2017 5:00 pm.

    9/12/17 Turnaround RFA

    Description:Competitive grant to assist underperforming schools.
    Eligible Entities:Schools who did not meet their 2017 Measure of Interim Progress and have downward trending proficiency data, schools who have improved but need sustainability support and high schools with less than 67% graduation rate.

    8/23/17 College and Career Readiness Grant SY 17-18

    Description: Competitive grant for expansion of coursework in the areas of STEM, Dual Enrollment, and Advanced Placement.
    Eligible Entities:All School districts, including all district-sponsored charter schools, charter schools sponsored by the State Public Charter School Authority, and Achievement Charter Schools.
    Due Dates/Timeline: Applications are Due on or before: Friday, September 22, 2017 5:00 p.m. Notice of Award: 10/20/17.

    7/31/2017 Read by Grade 3 Competitive Grant

    Description:This Nevada K.I.D.S. Read-Nevada's Read by Grade 3 Program includes a competitive grant opportunity. This third year of the grant (Phase III) - 2017- 2018 meets the statutory requirements indentified in Nevada's 2015 Read by Grade 3 Act (SB 391 - Section 15).
    Eligible Entities:This grant application process is open to all Nevada public school districts, district-sponsored charter schools, charter schools sponsored by the State Public Charter School Authority, and Achievement charter schools.
