Nevada Department of Education Seeking Input on Eligibility Documents for Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Act

The Nevada Department of Education is seeking input on the state’s annual Application Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act as Amended in 2004 for Federal Fiscal Year 2017 (State Fiscal Year 2018).

“We continue to value stakeholder input for consideration in guiding us to the best possible outcomes for students with disabilities,” said Will Jensen, Director for the Office of Special Education in the Nevada Department of Education.

Federal law requires that the document be circulated throughout the state for a 60-day period of time prior to final submission to the U.S. Department of Education. Within the 60-day circulation period, federal law also requires that the state establish a 30-day period within which it will accept written comments from the public concerning the document. In accordance with this requirement, written comments from the public will be accepted from March 8 through April 8, 2017.

The document has been disseminated throughout Nevada and is available for review at the following locations:
