Overview

The focus of this resource page is the 2015 Nevada State Literacy Plan (NSLP). This literacy guide for all Nevada educators was composed by a group of 25 educators from across the entire state. The NSLP includes a mini-plan for every developmental age-band – each is designed to stand alone. The five mini-plans include: Birth – Pre-K, Elementary, Middle School, High School, and Adult Literacy. Per SB 391, the Nevada Read by Grade 3 Act, all Nevada public and charter K-3 programs were required to compose their own local literacy plan & submit it to NDE. Every one of these local literacy plans have been aligned to the Nevada State Literacy Plan. Nevada’s State Literacy Plan has been nationally recognized as a model state literacy plan.
