National History Day in Nevada

Getting Ready...

Important Information for Participating Teachers and Students

• ADD: IMPORTANT!!! The 2010 Northern Nevada State Contest has moved!!! We have outgrown the State Archives, so the Northern Nevada State Contest will be held at the UNR Redfield Campus located at: 18600 Wedge Parkway, Reno 89511 (off the Mt. Rose highway).

• Southern Nevada Entries 2011 State Entry Form (Word) (PDF) xx

• Each school may submit three entries in each category; i.e. three individuals and three groups in each category where applicable. Historical papers are individual only.

• Completed entry forms should be sent to Stephanie Hartman OR Karlye Mull.

  • Northern Contest: Entry forms must be received by Stephanie Hartman at the Nevada Department of Education by
    March 11, 2011.

  • Southern Contest: Entry forms must be received by Karlye Mull's office in Las Vegas no later than March 25, 2011.

Historical paper entries submit three copies with your entry form for pre-contest reading by judges

• Northern Contest: Entries must be received by Stephanie Hartman at the Nevada Department of Education no later than 5pm on March 11, 2011.

• Southern Contest: Entries must be received by Karlye Mull's office in Las Vegas by March 25, 2011.

Website entries - For this year’s state competition – No paper copies are necessary for the submission of a website entry. The process paper and the annotated bibliography should be integrated into the website entry and part of the navigational structure.

All Entries: Bring process papers for exhibits, performances and documentaries to contest. Do not submit with entry forms.

• At the state contest, students must be chaperoned by the teacher or responsible adult. Teachers and parents are encouraged to attend the national contest.
