NCLB

Nevada No Child Left Behind In January of 2001, President Bush signed into law the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The new version of this act is commonly referred to as No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

NCLB has four essential elements:

1. Accountability for results

2. Emphasis on doing what works based on scientific research

3. Expanded parental options

4. Expanded local control and flexibility

Supplemental Educational Services

As part of the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, any school which is in its second year of school improvement must offer supplemental services to the parents of eligible children who attend that school.
