2009 Mega Conference

The 2009 Mega Conference, Thinking About Learning and Learning About Thinking: Practical Applications for Student Success, will focus on using research about brain-based learning to guide instructional practices and motivate students to succeed.

Below you will find information about the 2009 Mega Conference.  Presenter information will be updated as presentations are confirmed.  Please check back for more information.

About the Conference

The 2009 Mega Conference will once again bring best practices for realizing student achievement to parents, administrators and educators in Nevada.

This year will feature a number of quality educators sharing strategies for student success, including Ron Clark, who has been featured twice on the Oprah Show and named Ms.Winfrey’s first “Phenomenal Man”. Mr. Clark will kick off the weekend of learning with his inspirational story of raising student achievement by using unique and innovative methods incorporating his 55 classroom rules. These rules form the basis of his book, “The Essential 55: An Award-Winning Educator’s Rules for Discovering the Successful Student in Every Child.

In addition to 3 great keynote presentations, breakout sessions will be offered.  Presenters will include administrators and teachers from nationally recognized model schools as determined by the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE), as well as professionals from highlighted Nevada schools. “How-To” sessions will also be offered, and will focus on adolescent literacy, instructional practices for students with disabilities, 21st century learning, and brain research.
